Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Illahun dated AD 395 – 642

Two fragments of the fringe from a garment. The thick fringe is layered. The ground woollen cloth is woven with mixing strands of red and indigo dyed wool, forming a purple colour.
Plain woven fabric onto which the fringe is woven, formed from twisting weft threads. There are 11 warps per centimetre.
