Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

A fragment of a woollen fabric. Tapestry woven and embroidered in soft coloured wools of red, purple and brown. The warps are looped and twisted to form a fringe on two sides. Selvedge on both sides.
