Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Woollen, fine weave. Colour brown. Narrow purple stripe and four lines of decorative stitching in brown wool (two on the one side of the purple stripe, one on the other side, and one on the edge of the piece). Some threads grouped and sewn together between two decorative lines, forming a raised line (75mm long).
