Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Fragment of plaited woollen bag. Pale brown with a red stripe on one side. Fine plaited weave creating stripes, becoming a chevron patern towards the centre with the weave becoming more open and the warp thickening at the middle.
