Modern Egyptian – after AD 1500 bowl from Aswan dated AD 1900 – 1920

Large coarse shallow bowl with circular flattened base widening to rounded plain rim. Coarse orange buff ware with grits and straw, badly fired. Coated on exterior and interior with pale orange slip. With brown painted decoration on interior of cross hatched triangles on body, geometric square ornament circular section on base and line decoration on rim. Similar to some Predynastic pottery designs.
