Modern Egyptian – after AD 1500 pen and ink case from Egypt dated AD 1850 – 1900

A scribe’s pen and ink case, brass engraved with designs. Comprising long slim hollow pen case with one opening hinged end in which to store pens. Pen case is engraved on back with incised leaf and flower design and Arabic lettering. Attached to top of front near opening end is a roughly square brass inkwell opeing at side with a small hinged door and swivelling catch, and engraved on top with double fish.
