Ancient Egyptian inscribed red quartzite fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Red quartzite fragment with hieroglyphs in sunk relief. Two cartouches side by side. The one on the right hand side has had its contents erased or damaged. Possibly from the edge of a piece, as above the cartouches is an incised band. Possibly a recess in the right hand for inlaid Aten disc.

The translation is In his name of, referring to Re the father.
