Ancient Egyptian decorated red quartzite fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Red quartzite fragment with a head in sunk relief. Before the head is what may be part of a fan or sistrum. Head has the elongated skull typical of Amarna art, and hair in a broad band falling down the side of the head. Behind the head is an incised, perhaps denoting that this was an edge. The edge of the piece on this side seems intentionally finished off.
