Ancient Egyptian eye inlay from bull mummy from Armant Baqaria dated 664 – 30 BC

An intact inlay (its left?) eye from a bull’s mummy. It is made up of several pieces of different coloured glass? The eye is framed by an eye shaped oval (peaking at the tearduct and opposite edge of the eye) made of blue glass (now beige on the Inside this frame are set, a near disc shaped piece of blue glass? now marbled in appearance (possibly always tinted?), around which is set a crescent moon shaped piece of white glass? (now partly beige on the surface). Both peaks in the frame are filled with two triangular shapes of red glass, their one curved edge fitting against the white crescent. There are gaps in the filler used to secure the central pieces to the frame (fallen out). But some of the white plaster used remains (modern?) are traces of beige plaster around the edge of the frame. There is a fragment of white plaster associated with this eye, and it is included under this number, but it may not be from this eye. There seems to have been a end to the frame of the eye, inserting a piece of glass (it shows up as a darker band). This may be ancient or modern?
