Ancient Egyptian uraeus from Saqqara North Saqqara dated 664 – 332 BC

Wooden uraeus, gessoed and gilded, cobra in striking position with head surmounted by sun disk, flat back, details of the scales survive, tang below for insertion into base. One of a frieze of uraei, probably from the top of a shrine and possibly from a Mother of Apis burial.
