The final gallery is occupied by the installation of a life-size, historically accurate recreation of the tomb of Thutmose III. Completely unique to Bolton Museum, this space is a fully immersive experience of the last part of the Ancient Egyptian journey of life.

A custom-designed case stands proudly in the space, home to the mummified body of an adult male Egyptian, respectfully positioned in the tomb as its original occupant would also have been.

As in the original tomb itself, the walls are painted with the ’12 hours,’ a narrative of the deceased’s journey into the After Life.
